PROGRAMS
Solo
Performance
Participants can request up to three 60-minute individual lessons with one of our Teaching Artists to enhance their festival experience. We suggest that you prepare at least two pieces for study during your lessons.
Orchestra
Our chamber orchestra meets regularly throughout the festival and performs in the Grand Finale concert finale of the season. With our new additions in winds and brass, we plan to expand our repertoire this year.
Chamber Music
IMF master faculty guide small ensembles, as our participants learn to work with each other and also how to rehearse by themselves. The chamber music concert features all our groups in the final days of the festival.
Masterclasses
Our world-renown guest artists offer public masterclasses, giving you the opportunity to work with leading pedagogues, celebrated soloists and principal players in leading orchestras. These selections are based on a competitive audition process from your application recordings.
Specialty
Classes
IMF's unique offering: our specialized classes cover a broad range of topics: instrument selection and maintenance, music entrepreneurship, new music, Baroque vs. modern performance, physical education, preparing for a career in music, etc. Our courses are taught by leading experts in their respective fields who tailor their presentations to meet the specific needs of our participants.
Education Package
Our customized Education Package provides college-bound participants an individualized assessment of your skills and potential for growth. A renowned expert in college guidance counseling offers a specialty session on how to prepare a strong, dynamic and focused portfolio for college entrance applications. At the conclusion of the festival you will receive a personalized recommendation of colleges/universities/conservatories which may best suit your needs, based on our assessment of your participation in the IMF program.
