PROGRAMS

Solo

Performance

Participants will receive 2 one-hour individual lessons per week with the instructor of their choice (based on availability). We suggest that you come prepared with one or two pieces ready for performance. Accompanists are provided. Solo repertoire recital dates will be available.

Chamber Music Performance

You will have the opportunity to rehearse chamber music on a near-daily basis, with several coachings by our faculty. Performance and master classes provide an even richer experience.

Orchestral

Performance

Orchestra provides the largest social context to interact musically with most of the festival participants. IMF Director Iman Khosrowpour will lead rehearsals, culminating in a performance at the Grand Concert on Saturday, July 27.

Master

Classes

Our world-renown guest artists will give master classes to select participants, giving you the opportunity to work with leading pedagogues and celebrated soloists. These selections are based on a competitive audition which will take place on the first or second day of the festival

Specialty

Classes

Our specialized classes cover a broad range of topics: instrument selection and maintenance, music entrepreneurship, new music, Baroque vs. modern performance, preparing a career in music, etc.

Cultural

Field Trips

Southern California provides a wealth of opportunities to take advantage of the outstanding weather: beach excursions, Disneyland, Hollywood and outdoor concerts are just some of the possibilities. 2019 trips TBA.
